“Ultimate relies upon a Spirit of the Game that places the responsibility for fair play on every player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but should never sacrifice mutual respect, adherence to the agreed-upon rules, or the basic joy of play.”

Behaviors such as intentional fouls, cheating, or dangerous plays undermine the spirit and are strongly discouraged. Each player is morally obligated to uphold the rules, even if it might not be advantageous in the moment. This shared accountability is what preserves the integrity of flying disc sports.
